This morning I'm considering driving 2 hours away just so my kids can have fireworks for our 4th of July celebration. I guess I can understand their excitement about seeing things blow up and sparkle.
It must be like the way I feel when I see mouth watering food. I've been known to drive to nearby Massechusets for homemade sorbet.
Luckily this Independence Day there is no need to go very far to make these yummy and colorful themed dishes. Since in Granolaville we are all about promoting health and wellness (even during holidays when I want to stuff my face with all the sugar and fat my body can handle) here are some festive 4th of July treats, from around the web, you won't be ashamed to serve or eat!

I only eat junk food on the 4th! Wish I would have read this sooner. I am a deviled egg expert and am now dying to try this new recipe. I may also start making the stars and stripes toast just for fun!
